Aroma Therapy: Lavender Bath
The relaxing and healing properties of essential oils have been
known since ancient Egypt. Essential oils are said to benefit
mind, spirit, and body. Great for people, but absolutely wonderful
for dogs! Your dog can benefit, too! A dog's number 1 sense is
its smell. It's many times more powerful and sensitive than ours.
Through that highly developed sense, the dog is able to fully
take advantage of the healing and soothing properties essential
oils possess. Hyper dogs seem to suddenly calm down, dogs
that are constantly scratching themselves seem to relax.
The essential oil of our choice is Lavender. Lavender is known
as an "all-round" essential oil. It's great for the skin and skin
disorders and has been clinically proven to have a relaxing
effect. The fragrance is calming, relaxing, and balancing both
physically as emotionally. Furthermore, Lavender is known for its
antiseptic qualities, which means that it's great as a natural flea &
tick repellent! Wow! Regular flea and tick medicines contain
harsh chemicals that are damaging to the health of your dog
and everyone else breathing the fumes. Lavender however
wraps your dog in all goodness as well as the people
surrounding him. Please ask your groomer for more info.
